Portrait of SunJung Ko (Evelyn)

I'm a Marketing & Branding MSc student at the University of Sheffield, finishing in late September 2026. My work sits at the intersection of brand strategy and market research — the questions I keep coming back to are why a category buys what it buys, and how a brand earns the right to ask for a different decision.

Before Sheffield I trained as a Korean Language Educator at Dongguk University and spent a teaching practicum running tailored lessons for 300+ students across ten classes — an early lesson in audience segmentation that turned out to be the same skill, applied to a different audience, that I now use in brand work. Most recently I've been the Marketing Strategy intern at Bobbi, a UK FemTech start-up, where I led a competitor analysis of the FemTech and fitness-app market and produced thirteen feature recommendations to support the brand's strategic positioning.

I'm looking for an entry-level brand strategy or market research role in London from 1 October 2026. I have full UK work rights for two years from November 2026 onwards (Graduate visa — no employer sponsorship needed), and I'm equally happy on the brand side or in research-led consultancies. The work I want to do is the kind where the recommendation depends on the evidence, and the evidence depends on asking a sharper question.

  • April 2026

    Marketing Strategy Intern · Bobbi

    Remote · UK

FemTech & fitness app start-up. Brought in to scope the competitive landscape and identify product directions to strengthen the brand's strategic positioning.

    • Ran a national + international competitor analysis covering 7+ apps across the FemTech and fitness category, mapping each against four benchmarking criteria: features, UX, scientific credibility, and pricing.
    • Identified the strategic gaps the brand could credibly own — and which adjacencies were already saturated.
    • Produced thirteen insight-driven feature recommendations spanning must-haves, growth delighters, and longer-shot bets including wearable integration, B2B partnerships, and teen user acquisition.

    Teaching Practicum · Dongguk University

    Seoul, South Korea

Final-year practicum on the Korean Language Education BA. The first time I worked at scale on the same problem brand strategy keeps asking: how do you make one message land for many different audiences?

    • Delivered four lessons daily across ten classes, engaging 300+ students through participation-driven communication strategies.
    • Applied audience segmentation principles via one-to-one consultations to identify individual needs and customise content.
    • Designed learner-centred materials adapted to diverse student profiles — early evidence of the insight-to-message translation skill I now use in brand work.
